Currently the only building in the world that is taller is the Sydney Opera House, but the Argentine capital is currently on the verge of setting the record. Hence 2017 is the projected completion date for the Alvear Tower, which will feature 175 condos and a five-star hotel. Each unit will be around 330 square feet and will almost cost around $130 million to build. It is one of the 20 tallest buildings in South America.

Currently, four skyscrapers in South America are over 200 meters tall, with another one in the works. While there are many tall buildings in the world, many of them are located in central business districts. Those in Buenos Aires include the Parque Central Complex, the Catalinas Norte Business District, and the CentrInfinity o Empresarial Nacoes Unidas.
