If you’re looking for a breathtaking view of the city, the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is the place to stay. This 73-story tower is home to the city’s tallest sky lobby, located on the 70th floor. Guests can take in the views from the hotel’s floor-to-ceiling windows. The upscale hotel has a streamlined business contemporary design with a modern twist. The lobby features floor-to-ceiling windows, natural materials, and sophisticated local touches, and is a great place to hold an event.

The hotel’s 70-story sky lobby offers unrivaled views of the city and surrounding hills. The LEED Gold-certified structure combines modern architecture with environmental responsibility. Its innovative design draws inspiration from the city’s four ecological typologies.

The Wilshire Grand Center is the latest in a growing number of skyscrapers rising in Los Angeles. Standing more than 1,100 feet, it surpasses the U.S. Bank Tower, which stood at 985 feet. Development manager Christopher Martin said that having the title of “tallest building west of the Mississippi” brings both bragging rights.

The Wilshire Grand Center’s spire was finished and fixed to the roof of the structure’s atrium, giving the impression that it was a sail mast in the wind. Its spire features built-in aluminum ladders and steel galvanized platforms for easy access to the electrical components and man-lift drive system. It also features a rainbow-colored wall installation by Korean artist Do Ho Suh.

San Francisco’s Salesforce Tower

Salesforce Tower, formerly known as the Transbay Tower, is a 1070-foot office skyscraper in San Francisco, California. Located at 415 Mission Street between First and Fremont streets, next to the Transbay Transit Center, the building is part of San Francisco’s massive Transbay redevelopment plan. It includes a mix of office, transportation and retail uses. Its design is the last work of renowned architect Cesar Pelli.

Salesforce is the anchor tenant of the Salesforce Tower. The company has a 15-year lease on the building. The corporation intends to rent the 61st and 60th floors for events even though its offices are mostly on the lower floors. Already, 55 groups have inquired about free use of the event space. A view of the city skyline will be available to guests on the top floor, which will be decked with moving LED lights.

Seattle’s PCP

Seattle’s 4/C Tower, which would be the tallest building west of the Mississippi, is still under construction, but developers are trying to test the waters for taller downtowns. Developers envision transit-oriented downtowns that will include high-rises.

The facility is being built alongside the company’s transit centre and has a curved curvature in its design. The tower is anticipated to reach 1,070 feet once finished in 2018. It will rise 217 feet higher than San Francisco’s Transamerica Pyramid, which currently ranks as the tallest building west of the Mississippi.

Austin’s PCP

The Waterline Tower will have a hotel and apartments when it reaches its peak in August 2025. The building received final approval from the City of Austin in April, and site prep work has already begun. The tower will join the other two towers co-developed by LPC, the Sixth and Guadalupe towers and the Republic Tower. Once complete, the PCP will stand at 1,022 feet.

The PCP, or Public Sector Pension Investment Board, is one of Canada’s largest pension investment management companies. It has headquarters in Ottawa, with offices in New York, London, and other locations. Blackstone Mortgage Trust is providing funding for the Waterline undertaking. When completed, the tower will feature 352 apartments, as well as the luxury 1 Hotel Austin.

Tallest Buildings in the Western Hemisphere

CN Tower: Tallest Buildings in the Western Hemisphere

The CN Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the western hemisphere, standing at 351 meters. It features an observation deck that’s 350 m above ground level and a restaurant. Additionally, a comprehensive sprinkler system protects it. A ground-based pump connected to a municipal water source supplies the sprinklers with water. Its inlet relative pressure is 350 kPa. Commercial steel piping with an inner diameter of 7.5 cm makes up the CN Tower.

The American Society of Civil Engineers has chosen the CN Tower as one of the world’s seven new wonders. It is also a member of the World Federation of Great Towers and currently holds the second highest ranking among the tallest structures in the world. It is also the tallest habitable structure in Canada. When completed in 1975, it was the tallest freestanding building outside of New York City and Chicago.

The Petronas Towers was built with inspiration from Islamic art. The cross section of the building is based on the Rub el Hizb, and the circular sectors resemble the bottom part of the Qutub Minar.

The Petronas Towers are 88-storey twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The world’s tallest double-decker bridge, the Sky Bridge, connects the twin buildings. Its design distinguishes it from other constructions since the towers are not attach, allowing them to slide in and out during high winds.

Petronius oil platform: Tallest Buildings in the Western Hemisphere

The Petronius oil platform is the tallest free-standing structure in the western hemisphere, and stands 610 meters above sea level. It was crowned the world’s tallest freestanding structure by Guinness World Records in 2007 and was eclipsed in 2010 by the Burj Khalifa. However, the question of how high an oil platform can be below water is still a matter of debate. Some oil platforms have a higher height below water than other types of oil platforms, and some have a much smaller depth.

About 210 kilometers southeast of New Orleans, on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico, is where you can find the Petronius oil platform. The platform is flexible and can deflect 2% of its height because it was constructed utilising a compliant tower design. In comparison, the bulk of structures has a maximum height deflection of 0.5%.

The Willis Tower in Chicago is the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere. Originally known as the Sears Tower, this 1973 construction. It has a total height of 1,450 feet, making it the tallest building in the world. The Willis Tower is a popular tourist attraction in Chicago. In 2009, the Willis Group leased part of the tower and renamed it to reflect the new name. United Airlines occupies the top 20 floors of the building.

The Willis Tower was once the Sears Tower, which closed its doors in 1999. This did not stop the structure from being referred to as the Sears Tower, either. When London-based Willis Group Holdings bought the structure in 2003, they leased a part of the tower and acquired the name rights to it. The Willis Tower changed its name to the Willis Tower formally on July 16, 2009.
