The project was first announced in the year 2005. Koch Real Estate Investments and Fontainebleau Development are now working to develop the nine million square foot site. In 2023, the building will debut as the Fontainebleau Las Vegas resort.

There were plans for a $2.8 billion, 3,815-room resort when construction on the project began in 2007. However, the real estate boom went bust and the project went into bankruptcy. Carl Icahn, the current owner, bought the partially constructed tower in the recession and has largely abandoned it. However, before the tower is finished, his company—whose identity has not been made public—is selling everything else on the property.

The building is now undergoing a wrap-around design. The new owner is planning to call the property the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and ditch the old name. In 2023’s fourth quarter, the structure is anticipated to open.

The Fontainebleau has also been the target of complaints from residents of the adjacent Turnberry Place condominium towers. There is a large parking garage and ornamental vent panels all around the building.

Construction

Originally, the construction of the 1000 m Jeddah Tower was to have begun in December 2011. The plan was to have a triangular building with a height of 1000 meters. However, technical issues and labor problems delayed the project.

The tower built with the intention of enhancing Jeddah’s reputation. The general design of the structure aims to convey the significance of the city as the entrance to Mecca. The exterior of the tower is intend to resemble a desert plant that is growing upward.

Design by Chicago-based Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill Architecture. Smith’s design is still under wraps, but it combines several distinctive structural aspects. The tower plan is to feature four residential tiers, including apartments and Class A office space.

In addition, the wind at high altitude was too strong for a helicopter to land. The design was then changed to the terrace, which will be the world’s highest terrace when it is completed.

Architect Adrian Smith is the man behind the new Jeddah Tower. The tower is slated to be the tallest structure in the world when it is complete, and will exceed the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The project is part of a massive development that will boost the economy of the city of Jeddah.

It will have an interior space of 5.7 million square feet. It will include apartments, office space, and a four-seasons hotel. The tower will also have an observatory that will be open to the public. High-strength concrete that will be several metres deep in the core will be used to build the structure. This concrete is design to prevent collapse in the event of a terrorist attack.

The Jeddah Economic Company is the main entity behind the development. It plans to build a total of 500,000 residences across the kingdom.

Its height has led to a spate of complaints from residents about noise, elevator problems, and flooding. Building’s exterior features a poured-in-place concrete structure and is divided into 12-story blocks. The building’s interior features custom carved solid marble vanities and marble floors. The building’s windows measure 10 feet by 10 feet, allowing the interiors to flood with natural light. The building also incorporates renewable technology, such as energy-efficient lighting.

 

 

When 432 Park Avenue was being built, the economy was slowly recovering and the financial firmament was beginning to thaw. Foreign buyers had become desperate for big returns and were looking for discretion. CIM, a financial firm owned by the Vector Group, and Harry Macklowe, a developer, formed a partnership to develop the tower.

The building also has a full-floor condo on the 82nd floor, which is in contract for $70 million. The building has a private restaurant, helmed by Michelin-star chef Shaun Hergatt.

The tower is the first residential building in the world to incorporate integral wind turbines. Three wind turbines will provide a total of 50MWh of electricity per year. This is equivalent to 8% of the building’s total energy consumption. This electricity will be collected by the Elephant and Castle Multi Utility Services Company.
